Safety and verification on Sangam Rishta
Sangam Rishta checks every profile and every photo before other members can see it, lets members verify their mobile number by WhatsApp OTP, and lets each family decide whether its number is shown. Logged-out visitors never see numbers or photos.
Every profile and photo is checked
New profiles start as “waiting for approval” and become visible only after an admin approves them. Photos go through three layers: the phone checks that the photo shows one person's face (side poses and full-length photos are accepted), Google Cloud Vision checks for adult or violent content, and an admin approves the photo. Rejected photos are deleted automatically.
Verified badge with WhatsApp OTP
Every account logs in with a mobile number and password. When a member confirms the number with a 6-digit code sent on WhatsApp, a blue verified badge appears next to the names on their profiles, and other members can filter for verified profiles only.
Your number is private unless you share it
Each profile has a “Show my number” setting. If it is off, the number is shared only with families whose interest you accept. Profile links shared on WhatsApp show just the first name, age, city and Profile ID; the full profile opens only inside the app after login.
Limits that stop brokers and fake profiles
- One account can create at most 3 profiles.
- If more than 3 imported profiles carry the same contact number, they are hidden and the number is treated as an agent number.
- Members can report a profile (fake profile, wrong information, asking for money and more). Three reports from different members hide the profile until an admin reviews it. Members can also block a profile.
Legal age for marriage
Sangam Rishta follows India's Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 and does not accept a date of birth below the legal age: 21 years for men and 18 years for women.
“A child is a person who has not completed 21 years in case of male and 18 years in case of female.”— Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, definition of “child” (summary)
Your data
Sangam Rishta collects only what a matrimony profile needs, never sells personal data, and lets you delete your account and all profiles at any time from the app or the Delete account page. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 governs how digital personal data is processed; read how Sangam Rishta handles data in the Privacy Policy.
Safety tips for families
- Talk on the phone and meet the family in person, at home or in a public place, before deciding.
- Never send money, gifts or documents to someone you have not met. Report anyone who asks for money.
- Check education and job details with the family; prefer verified profiles.
