Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MJX Technologies ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Sangam Rishta mobile app (the "App"). The App is a free community matrimony service. By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information

• Your name and mobile number (used to log in)
• Your password, stored only in encrypted (hashed) form – we cannot read it
• Whether your mobile number is verified

Matrimony profile information – entered by you for yourself or for a family member, with their consent:

• Name, gender, date of birth, height, complexion, marital status, mother tongue, physical disability (optional)
• Religion, caste, sub-caste, gotra, native place, city, state and country
• Horoscope details: manglik status, rashi, nakshatra, birth time and birth place
• Education, occupation, employer, annual income range, work location
• Family details, lifestyle (diet, smoking, drinking), about text, hobbies and partner preferences
• Profile photos
• Contact mobile number and WhatsApp number for the profile

Some of this information (such as religion, caste and health-related details) is sensitive. You provide it voluntarily so that suitable matches can be found. Optional fields can be left empty.

Activity in the App

• Interests you send, receive, accept or decline; profiles you skip or block; reports you submit
• Notifications we send you

Device information

• A push-notification token for your phone, so we can alert you about interests
• For Android installs from a shared link: the Google Play install referrer (the shared Profile ID) to open that profile once

We do not collect your location, contacts, call logs, SMS or advertising ID, and the App shows no advertisements.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and log you in
• To show approved profiles to other logged-in members and suggest matches
• To share contact numbers only as you choose: shown to members if you turn on "Show my number", or after you accept an interest
• To review profiles and photos for safety (admin approval and automatic photo checks)
• To send verification codes and notifications about interests
• To prevent misuse, fake profiles, fraud and abuse, and to respond to reports

3. Who can see your information

• Logged-in members can see approved, active profiles (details and approved photos). Hidden contact numbers stay private unless you accept their interest.
• Community admins can see profiles, photos, accounts and reports to approve profiles and keep the community safe.
• Shared links: when a member shares a profile, the message contains only the first name, age, height, city, caste, education and Profile ID. The full profile and photos are visible only inside the App after login.
• We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for advertising.

4. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the App. They process data only on our instructions:

• Supabase – secure database, login and photo storage
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging – push notifications
• Google Cloud Vision – automatic check that uploaded photos are decent and show one face
• Google ML Kit – face check on your phone before upload (runs on the device)
• Meta WhatsApp Business – sending verification codes to your WhatsApp
• Cloudflare – website and shared links

Some providers may store or process data on servers outside India, with appropriate security safeguards.

5. Data security

• All data is transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• Passwords are hashed; photos are stored privately and shown only through short-lived secure links
• Database access rules ensure members can only see what they are allowed to see

No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Data retention and deletion

• We keep your information while your account is active.
• You can edit or delete any profile at any time in the App.
• You can delete your whole account in the App: Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your login, all profiles, photos, interests and notifications. See Delete your account.
• Photos rejected by our checks are deleted automatically.
• We may keep limited records where required by law or to resolve disputes and prevent abuse.

7. Your rights

Under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Most of this you can do yourself in the App. For anything else, email us at [email protected].

8. Age requirement

The App is only for adults: users must be at least 18 years old. Profiles must meet the legal minimum age for marriage in India (18 for women, 21 for men). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Profiles created for family members

If you create a profile for a son, daughter or relative, you confirm that they are an adult and have agreed to their profile and photos being shared in the App.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for important changes, inform you in the App.
